Our Team Texas athletes and special guest Cate Ziegler-Amon who earned spots on the 2026 USA National & Development Teams were celebrated this week at Movement Gyms Dallas-Fort Worth Plano! 🇺🇸
It was an incredible evening as our community came together to support these athletes before they head to Arco, Italy next week to represent Team USA at the IFSC Youth World Championships.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised $1,300 for our Athlete Fund to help offset travel expenses as they compete on the world stage.
Before the celebration, our National Team athletes gave back by coaching climbers of all ages in lead, speed, and bouldering—sharing their knowledge, inspiring the next generation, and engaging with the community.
A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors who helped make this event possible:
Plano Alphagraphics for donating our athlete autograph posters.
Dick’s House of Sport Plano for athlete swag bags and generously donating a birthday party package for our raffle.
ZIGZAG Climbing for chalk bags and Impact Chalk.
The North Face for an awesome duffel bag raffle prize.
A special thank you to Micah Greenlee for hosting the evening and to our incredible Team Texas Foundation Board volunteers who worked behind the scenes to organize this event. Your time, energy, and dedication made the celebration possible.
Thank you to everyone who climbed, donated, volunteered, and cheered on these incredible athletes. Next stop: Arco! 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Doors open at 4:30, we will do a full team picture at 5:20, and the taco buffet will start at 5:30pm. Please note on your ticket order if you have any specific dietary needs or restrictions (allergies, sensitivities, aversions, vegetarian, vegan, etc) so that we can safely accommodate your needs. A cash bar will also be available on premises for those 21+.

Tickets are $50 for ages 12 and under and $55 for 13+.  An Early Bird discount of $5 per ticket is available through June 30th, and avoid penalties by purchasing your tickets by 9/15 when prices go up to $65 per person.  We are also requesting coaches to RSVP so that we can account for the number of attendees and are welcoming donations from families to help cover the cost of their meals.

We're heading to Chattanooga, Tennessee! Help us gauge interest so we can plan the logistics. Likely, older athletes will be allowed to register first, and any available seats will be made available for U13 after an application to assess trip readiness.

TRIP DETAILS: Stone Fort and surrounding areas, July 30–August 8, traveling by Team van.  Two foundation chaperones will accompany the group — a current team parent and a graduated alumnus. Coaching staff will include Lawrence and Liberty, plus Skyler if there are enough sign-ups. The time normally goes: Day 1 drive, Days 2-3-climb, Day 4 rest, Days 5-6 Climb, Day 7 rest, Day 8-9 Climb, Day 10 Travel.

The last time TTX took a summer trip was in 2024 for 15 days and cost approximately $120 per day. Spring Break trip is this year was about $230 per day. Includes house meals (climbers pay for meals in the road and rest day dinners), coaching, climbing guides for ropes days, and accommodations.  Cost estimates will be greatly impacted by how many people plan to go and what rentals we are able to secure. Just know we always aim to keep trips as affordable as we can. Plan that it will be likely in the vicinity of $2,000, but we don't know yet.

So please discuss as a family (athlete + guardians) take a second and let us know. This is not a registration — just let us know if you're interested or NOT.

Unfamiliar with TTX trips? View recent Spring Break Trip video. Also, check out an old trip to Stone Fort.

Team Texas will have a concessions stand in Carrollton for the JCCA comp on Saturday, May 16th & SBS comp on Saturday, May 23. We are looking for donations to help fill the concessions as well as volunteers to help man the station.  We will edit/confirm times of slots when they are published.

Please feel free to sign up for items listed and begin dropping them off. I will have a bin marked for concession donations inside the closet in Carrolton beginning next Tuesday 4/7. You can also drop them off with Junior during his speed practice on Mondays & Wednesdays 5-8 PM or Saturdays 9AM - 12 PM at the Plano gym.

(If you plan on dropping off donations in Plano with Junior, please let Sheri Leyva know on Teams the day of drop off. You can also contact Sheri to coordinate drop offs at other times or locations)

We are hoping to have all of the drinks and non perishable food donations brought in and dropped off no later than Thursday, May 14th. All fruit can be dropped off the week of each comp and stored in the Carrolton TC fridge.

If your climber would like to work the concession stand for service hours, feel free to sign up for more than one volunteer slot!

Thank you all for supporting Team Texas !!!

Team Texas is celebrating an incredible weekend on the international stage!

A huge congratulations to Team Texas speed climbing athlete Claire Pee for securing the bronze medal, and to Team Texas alum Lucas Vales, who also earned bronze, at the 2025 IFSC Pan American Cup in Armenia. Their outstanding performances showcased not only their world-class athleticism but also the spirit, resilience, and determination that define Team Texas.

Claire continues to push the limits of speed climbing with her focus, precision, and relentless drive—qualities we are proud to see representing our team and community. Lucas, a Team Texas alum, continues to inspire current athletes by demonstrating what’s possible with dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport.

We could not be more proud of both athletes for representing Team Texas on the international stage and contributing to the growing legacy of competitive climbing in Texas and beyond. Their achievements motivate all of us—coaches, teammates, families, and future athletes—to keep striving, training, and believing.

Please join us in congratulating Claire and Lucas on this remarkable accomplishment. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Go Team Texas!

Team Texas Climbing traded in chalk bags for paintball guns this weekend! It was an awesome day full of laughter, friendly fire, and a few colorful battle scars. Everyone showed off their competitive side in the arena—but most of all, we just had fun hanging out together off the wall.

Huge thanks to all the coaches, friends and family who came out to cheer, play, and take photos (we’ve got some great ones below!). Events like this remind us how special our climbing community really is—whether we’re on the wall or out in the field, we’re stronger together. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
